Even better than the original that seemed to be flawless. The few key scenes they do add are amazing, I can't imagine the crab walk not being part of the experience now.
I feel like the pacing is even better, there's more time spent with the characters and an even more mystifying tone to it. It will always be the horror movie that got me crazy about the genre, there's no way you can see this and not be utterly blown away. It's realistic, creepy and beautiful. William Friedken's level of detail is amazing and unmatched in the context of the release and expectations in horror movies at the time.
Smoke billows from a herb burner filling the Spirit Room with an eerie haze. A woman stands over Hollywood actress Megan Duffy chanting and shaking a rattle carved with a head inspired by shamanic art, as her client lies motionless on a narrow bed. The tension in the air is thick as the 'healer' places an ornate dagger on Duffy's wrist and, breathing deep, rapid breathes, summons 'higher beings' from the spirit world, asking them to rid her body of evil demons.
