Alan Ludden was truly a class act. One of a very few of the great game show hosts like Bill Cullen and Tom Kennedy. Password was a show that required the contestants to at least have a vocabulary--something that's sadly missing in today's game show world. I remember the last episode of Mr.

Password Plus and Super Password are American TV game shows that aired separately between 1979 and 1989. Both shows were revivals of Password, which originally ran from 1961 to 1975 in various incarnations. The game was revived in 1979 first as Password ’79 and was later renamed Password Plus. The cash prizes got bigger and the game was a little different but it was essentially the same show. Host Allen Ludden challenges two teams, each composed of a contestant and a celebrity guest, to guess the 'Password.' Once the password is revealed to one player from each team, the first team attempts to get a correct response using a one-word clue.
